A day pass is $18 per person and covers everything — swimming, rock climbing, crawdad catching, hiking, pickleball, volleyball and basketball. Kids under 2 are free. Punch passes are $130 for 10 visits or $270 for 30, and they never expire and can be shared.

Is Veyo Pool a hot spring?

The pool is fed by a natural warm spring, but it is not a hot spring — the water is refreshing rather than hot, and the canyon itself sits 12–15° cooler than St. George all summer. No chemicals are added to the pool.

Can you camp at Veyo Pool?

Accepted Answer

Yes. There are 31 campsites along the creek in the private canyon, from $30 a night, plus RV sites and a historic 4-bedroom farmhouse that sleeps the whole group. Fires are not allowed at any of them — no campfires, charcoal or open flame anywhere in the canyon. Everyone entering the canyon also pays the daily Canyon Access fee — at the gate, or added to your booking.

Do you have rock climbing?

Yes — Utah's only private outdoor rock climbing park, with 234 bolted routes on the canyon's basalt walls, included with a day pass. Bring your own rope, harness and shoes; the routes are bolted, but we do not rent equipment.

Do I need my own equipment at Veyo Pool?

Accepted Answer

Climbing is the one thing you must bring gear for — your own rope, harness and shoes. For crawdad catching you can bring a net and bucket, or buy a Crawdad Catching Kit at the window for $16, which has a bucket, bait, pole and net. Swimming, the game courts and everything else need nothing but a swimsuit.

Is Veyo Pool open in the winter?

The regular season ends 31 October. From 1 November to 31 May the canyon opens by reservation for rock climbing, crawdad catching and camping — the pool is closed during those months. Call ahead to arrange it.

Yes — everyone 18 and over signs a liability waiver before entering the canyon, and it covers minors in your party. You can sign it online ahead of time and walk straight in.

Yes, the Lava Grill is right by the pool — smashed burgers, hand-dipped Pronto Pups, the famous Veyo pie shake, ice cream and cold drinks. See the full menu before you come, and order at the window.

No. Fires are not allowed anywhere in the canyon — no campfires, charcoal or open flame of any kind, at campsites or picnic sites. The canyon floor is deep in fallen leaves and cottonwood down, so this is a permanent rule rather than a seasonal restriction.

Can you catch crawdads at Veyo Pool?

Yes. The creek running the length of the canyon is loaded with crawdads. Bring your own gear or pick up a Crawdad Catching Kit at the front desk.

Does Veyo Pool take groups or reunions?

Groups of 10 or more get passes for $13 a person and 30 or more for $9 a person with advance purchase. Private decks and patios, picnic sites, and the farmhouse can all be reserved for a reunion or event. Call (435) 574-2300.

Do you provide rock climbing equipment or guides?

No. Bring your own rope, harness and shoes — the 234 routes are bolted, so you will not place protection, but we do not rent equipment and we do not guide.

Can I have a fire?

Can I park in the canyon?

Only with a campsite or picnic site reservation. The county and the fire department limit how many vehicles are allowed down there, so a reservation is what buys the parking spot.

Why do I have to sign a waiver?

Our insurance carrier requires it. Every adult signs for themselves; a parent or legal guardian signs for anyone under 18. You only sign once — it does not expire, though a minor signs again for themselves at 18.

What time is the Lava Grill open?

Daily, 11am to 6pm — shorter than the canyon's own hours, so plan lunch rather than a late dinner.

Yes. They were remodelled recently and have hot water.

Can I bring my own food?

Yes. There is no charge to bring a cooler, though most people end up at the Lava Grill anyway. NO GLASS in the pool area — no exceptions.

In some places. Not in the pool area; you may have it at your campsite or picnic site.

Not in the canyon. We ask smokers to go to the top of the canyon so it does not reach anyone else.

Can I bring my dog?

No animals of any kind in the canyon, with the exception of ADA service animals. Under the ADA a service animal is one individually trained to do work or perform tasks for a person with a disability; emotional support animals do not qualify.

Can I drive an RV or trailer into the canyon?

No — the road down is too steep, and people do get stuck. RV sites are at the top of the canyon instead.

Can we take crawdads home?

No. This is catch and release. The crawdads go back in the creek — they do not survive outside it, and they are what the next family comes to find.
